The primary function of the position is to oversee and direct the daily operations of the county Juvenile Unit. Provides direct oversight to the supervisor, assistant supervisors, JPO2 and JPO1 positions within the Juvenile Unit. Position also assists the Juvenile Court Judge with delinquency court matters and the Director of Probation Services in the administration and supervision of the entire Probation Services’ staff and services. Involvement in hiring, training, and disciplinary process of staff, creation of department policy, budget responsibilities, grant management, juvenile court scheduling, and processing expungements. Conducts employee performance reviews and implements performance improvement plans. Provide approval for arrests and search requests based on reasonable suspicion requirements and address internal and external complaints. All other duties as assigned.
